Cabinet establishes children’s fund – The Namibian

CABINET has approved the establishment of a children’s fund after a request was submitted by the ministry of gender equality, poverty eradication and social welfare this week.

Government spokesperson Peya Mushelenga confirmed the development.

“Cabinet also took note of the concluding observations and recommendations emanating from the 82nd Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) 6th periodic report,” Mushelenga said.

Cabinet directed the gender ministry to coordinate with other key stakeholders and develop an implementation plan.
